"What is Krewe Musique?" KM is the membership and support program of La Musique de Louisianne Inc., the IRS certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that operates and does business as The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame.
“What can I do to help?” The first thing you can do is to become a member of Krewe Musique and assist us in funding projects that fulfill our mission to honor, preserve and promote our great Louisiana music legacy.
"Why does it take so long to grow?" It takes quite a lot of time as well as financial resources, to make proper contact, research, acquire and format artifacts, and develop bios and artwork in order to share the info, memorabilia and multimedia works of the artist for our ground-breaking GALLERIES MUSIQUE Virtual Museum to fully complete an induction.
"Are donations tax deductible?" Your membership directly supports these core functions and, like all donations to LMDL/LMHOF, is tax deductible under IRS rules governing 501(c)(3) certified entities.
"Where is the Hall of Fame?" Brick & mortar locations are a product of donations and fund-raising. It is our plan and intent to one day, establish one or more physical “home” locations across the State of Louisiana, maybe sooner than anyone would believe, as well as additional "satellite" locations in smaller areas. We are currently active in location resolution in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
"Why should I join and donate now?" Our online GALLERIES MUSIQUE Virtual Museum is already proof enough that our efforts and projects are worthy of support. A good look through the albums will show that we are, in fact, bringing "lost" and previously inaccessible artists "to the stage" (sometimes quite literally - Phil Philllips), honoring aging artists while they are still with us (Benny Spellman), preserving rare performances (Dick Holler - Dave Bartholomew), locating and bringing forward lost works (Jimmie Davis) and even more.
Since creation in 2005, The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame has welcomed over 50 Inductees to its ranks with many more to come. If you don’t see your favorite of Louisiana's artists here yet, be assured he or she will be honored in the future.
We have also begun establishing our Regional LMHOF Halls, Performers' Stage (Hall) and Writers' Annex (Hall) to appropriately recognize artists and entertainers whose contributions and careers have been significant even if not as widely known by the public as our legends.
Live performances and events, exclusive recordings, multimedia programming, LMHOF branded merchandise, archiving of memorabilia, oral histories, media coverage, educational programming, broadcast educational programs, support for selected young musicians, and much more will be expanded as we continue to grow.
"How does Krewe Musique work?" Our membership levels are themed after a Mardi Gras Krewe and are available to both individuals and businesses.
Our BASIC membership level is the "Krewe Member". A yearly Donation of only $25 signs you up as a "Krewe Member" and entitles you to receive our News Musique NewsLetter.
Our ADVANCED levels are listed in the table below.
“What if I want to Donate a higher or different amount?” Then you would want to Contact us about a GOLD or PLATINUM level Sponsorship for a higher than $10,000 amount of donation. Krewe Musique is set up for these levels and can offer some excellent reward perks for these majoe donor Sponsorships to assist us in funding projects that fulfill our mission to honor, preserve and promote our great Louisiana music legacy.
