represented on the cd are new artists, classic artists, never released exclusive tracks, live versions of previously released songs and tracks available nowhere else. it is our belief that we have achieved, within the parameters of cd total time available, number of possible tracks, louisiana music genres and geographic regions of louisiana and louisiana music.
the Louisiana music HALL OF FAME is proud to present what is, to our belief, the finest compilation product available for this fund raising, within our criteria, time frame and processes as outlined below.
this cd compilation was created AND PRODUCED TOTALLY by la musique de louisianne inc., the louisiana music hall of fame, under contract with the louisiana bicentennial commission under lmhof executive director and lbc music committee chairman, mike shepherd. THE CD IS THE SOLE PROPERTY OF LA MUSIQUE DE LOUISIANNE INC., THE LOUISIANA MUSIC HALL OF FAME.
LA MUSIQUE DE LOUISIANNE INC. IS AN IRS CERTIFIED 501C3 NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. the songs and artists selected were chosen by a process which first looked at songs by louisiana artists and written by louisianans, then by title relevance to louisiana, then by assessment ofboth the quality of the song and the recording.
the LBC music committee was involved and instrumental in this process and all ideas submitted were taken into consideration.
the process was designed to create a high quality, high class product reflecting the diversity, both musically, geographically and by genre of louisiana music and artists.
the inclusion of two songs did not "follow the path" of title diversity, "you are my sunshine" and "there's a god somewhere." simply, gospel songs do not generally reflect city or state names and other terms generally found in popular genres of music, and the inclusion of a high quality gospel song and recording by a historically important louisiana artist was moved. the classic song of two-time louisiana governor jimmie h. davis was accepted due to several factors including the exclusive nature of this never previously released recording, the importance of the song historically and the historical importance of governor davis.
artists who are current members of the louisiana music hall of fame, artists slated for induction into the louisiana music hall of fame, artists who may have previously contributed to the louisiana music hall of fame and, artists with no ties whatsoever to the louisiana music hall of fame were considered and selected based on the previously stated criteria.
