Tareva Henderson

Born in south central Louisiana, Tareva began singing in her parents entertainment venues at the age of seven, where she not only sang in the house band of family members but opened shows for many major artists that would perform there
on a regular basis. (Fats Domino, Jerry Lee, Willie Nelson, Merele Haggard, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn and many
others). Her father was a champion fiddler that played with Lefty Frizzell and George Jones in the 50’s. Tareva went into the studio at the age of 12 to cut her first record…….

She formed her own band in the 80’s that won contests like “GMC” True Value” Marlboro Music” and won Louisiana’s
favorite female vocalist two years where critics said “Tareva has the ability to effortless belt out R&B while showing a sultry delta country sound that’s all her own”. Shortly after this a bigger prize awaited….being a contestant on “Star Search”.

She won 6 times and landed in the semi-finals, with a “Star Search Tour” and “Star Search Album” to follow.
For the next few years, Tareva would continue to travel and do dates at casinos, weddings, hotel circuits, fairs and
festivals. One of Tareva’s favorite spots on the tour was the “Emerald Coast of Florida” and she vowed to make that her
home one day.

She then released a record that received rave reviews from Billboard magazine and Music Row magazine. The next LP
would climb the Indy charts and won her the “CMT Songwriter of the year” award. Naturally she moved to Nashville and
landed a spot on TNN’s #1 rated show. She remained a regular singer on “Crook & Chase” and “Music City Tonight”
shows for several years getting her twice nominated for “Newcomer of the Year” on the TNN-MCN award shows
where she performed on both award programs filmed at the “Grand Ole Opry”.

The media coverage from magazines like Country Weekly and Modern Screen made her a favorite in Nashville on studio
sessions for harmonies, demos, commercials, national jingles and more TV appearances. Endorsements from Carvin
Corporation and Cache’ Clothing would follow as she participated in Nashville’s Fan Fair and California’s Star Fest
where she was labeled the “surprise favorite”.

She later sided with the likes of Dolly Parton, George Jones, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Billy Ray Cyrus and Porter
Wagner to pay tribute to the “Grand Ole Opry” for a song and video called “In the Shade of the Family Tree”. Tareva then teamed up with entertainment giant “Kenny Rogers” as his duet partner on the LP “Across My Heart”. Their duet is called “Once in a Lifetime”.

TV appearances and concerts followed the release as Tareva later left Nashville to work the theaters in Branson, Pigeon
Forge, and Myrtle Beach.

After years becoming a chameleon vocalist on any music scene she was faced with a serious car accident and an
undiagnosed mysterious spinal cord disorder. Hit by an uninsured motorist in a head on collision she walked away,
not by luck, but by divine intervention. She knew there was an unseen hand there to rescue her and keep her here. Having to take lots of time off to recover from health issues, she began using her gifts and talents to give back to God. She went into to churches and began singing Gospel music. She was featured in Christian Magazines as a favorite artist, as well as The Inspirational Network, BET, & SBN TV shows. Many major artists have commented on Tareva’s voice but the legend Brenda Lee said it best…”Star Quality is that special elusive magic, that when added to God given talent, a remarkable potential for greatness is born and I believe Tareva has this”…..

Now the Emerald Coast is Tareva’s home as a place to slow down, with some days fighting the Syringomyelia, Osteo
Arthritis, Scoliosos, Bertolotti Syndrome and Degenerative Disc Disease where the last surgery left 5 levels of titanium fusion in her neck. The doctors told her it was possible she may never sing again after the procedure, but 9 months later she walked into a church to sing.. and now her story continues. She is the Worship Leader singing for Alive Chapel ran by Haven House Ministries. This is the most successful drug and alcohol rehabilitation faith based program, with a 78% success rate. They have locations in Florida and Tennessee. She is also a vocalist for Faith Assembly Church and local fine dining establishments near her home in Florida. As 2020 brings a New Year, a new award awaits, as Tareva has been invited to join the ranks of Louisiana natives like Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Aaron Neville, Randy Jackson and many others, to be inducted into the prestiges Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. Coming home for this event will include TV and radio dates. The well known “Studio in the Country” will host a recording and video session as Tareva brings a few songs home to record for this Welcome Home Party………

Now in 2022, Tareva has been inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, and …has her newest recording Louisiana’s Song” audibly, as part of the LMHOF “WALL” at BTR Metro Airport.
